Painting of aspen leaf.

At TLC Ned, we work with the landscape rather than against it. Living in the mountains means balancing our needs with those of the local land, flora, and fauna. We specialize in balancing risk and landowner goals with ecosystem function and health, and we're proud to help our community steward our fragile mountain resources sustainably. There is a special feeling when the birds, bees, and butterflies return to visit after restoration work has occurred.

Painting of mountains.Based in the Nederland area of unincorporated Boulder County, TLC Ned serves homeowners and landowners across the Front Range foothills and mountain communities: Nederland, Boulder city and county, and Gilpin, Larimer, Clear Creek, and Jefferson counties. Mountain living comes with its own challenges: fire risk, tough soils, big wildlife, limited water, and short seasons. Trees Land Critters exists to help you meet them with both academic and hands-on expertise in ecosystem management.

Painting of chipmunk with geranium flower. And for those living in the city or otherwise in need of tree pruning and landscaping for aesthetics and conflict reduction, TLC Ned has the expertise to help! We perform structural tree pruning to minimize storm damage and maintain building clearance, young tree developmental pruning, fruit tree pruning systems, and xeriscaped (low-water) landscape planning, installation, and maintenance. We are knowledgeable of nursery stock, site-specific compatible plant options and establishment, soil amendments, rainwater management, and companion plant strategies for healthier gardens. As climate change continues to impact our local ecosystems with extreme weather, drought- and heat-resistant landscaping is increasingly vital to successful garden and landscape installations. These installations can also help to support local wildlife that are stressed from heat and drought. We would love to help you replace your thirsty lawn with plantings suited to the local water supply!
